At least that’s how Cubs manager Craig Counsell sees it. The 34-year-old left-handed Cubs pitcher was named to the National League All-Star team on Sunday and joins outfielders Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker, who were announced as starters on Wednesday.

The lefty starting pitcher was named to the NL All-Star squad Sunday, joining his two teammates, who were previously announced as elected starters in the outfield.

Major League Baseball has announced the 2025 All-Star Game pitching staffs. Chicago Cubs left-hander Matthew Boyd has been named an All-Star for the first time in his career. Boyd, 34, is having an excellent first campaign with the Cubs after dealing with injuries for the last four seasons.
