Elon Musk continued to make announcements that stopped people in their tracks by submitting an offer to acquire OpenAI. The artificial intelligence (AI) startup responsible for building ChatGPT is one of the most closely watched companies in the tech space,

"Special voting rights could keep power in the hands of its nonprofit arm in future and so address the Tesla chief's criticisms that Altman and OpenAI have moved away from their original mission of creating powerful AI for the benefit of humanity," the FT wrote.

Bret Taylor, the chairman of OpenAI’s board, said the artificial intelligence company was “not for sale.” Mr. Musk is separately raising money for his A.I. start-up, xAI.
