THE HAGUE, Netherlands — U.S. President Donald Trump’s executive order imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) could jeopardize trials and investigations at the world’s only permanent global tribunal for war crimes and genocide.

The ICC pushed back against Trump's new sanctions targeting the court saying it threatens to "erode international rule of law," calling for a united front.

The president signed an executive order that said the I.C.C.’s actions against Israel and preliminary investigations into the United States “set a dangerous precedent.”
