Tropical storm warnings have been extended up to Surf City, North Carolina, as Tropical Storm Chantal is offshore of the southeastern U.S. on Saturday, according to the National Hurricane Center. The storm has maximum sustained wind of up to 45 mph and is moving north at just 3 mph.

Forecasters with the National Weather Service said Tropical Storm Chantal is expected to move across the coast of South Carolina on Sunday.

Tropical Depression 3 strengthened to Tropical Storm Chantal Saturday morning. Chantal will move northward and come ashore in South Carolina early Sunday morning.
