Around 90% of carpets manufactured in Afghanistan are sold in international markets, reflecting a significant increase in exports driven by improved government support and reduced customs barriers.

KABUL, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan exported 3,960 tons of hand-woven carpets in 2024, spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad told local media.
