An armed adult man was shot by US Secret Service personnel on Sunday morning outside the White House, the agency announced shortly after the incident.

The Secret Service have announced that they have shot a man who was brandishing a firearm near the White House today, Sunday 9 March. The man was believed to have made his way from Indiana to Washington D.C., and had been noted by local police as a potential suicide risk, who informed the Secret Service.
