With Superman officially hitting theaters today, the launch of James Gunn and Peter Safran ’s DC Universe is in motion, and Gunn and Safran are just getting started. According to a new report from The Wall Street Journal ,

Rather than give an origin story to the iconic DC hero, Gunn’s film picks up in a world that is well familiar with Superman and has several other heroes flying around as the Justice Gang, an early prototype of what’s soon to become the Justice League.
