Kenley Jansen, a four-time All-Star and MLB's active saves leader, is set to join the Los Angeles Angels' bullpen coming off two seasons with the Boston Red Sox.

As first reported by the New York Post’s Jon Heyman, the Los Angeles Angels are signing the veteran to a one-year, $10 million deal. The 37-year-old Jansen spent the last two seasons with the Boston Red Sox, making his fourth career All-Star team in 2023. Jansen recorded a total of 56 saves across two seasons, posting a 3.44 ERA.

The Los Angeles Angels have added a legendary closer to their bullpen. According to the New York Post's Jon Heyman, the Angels reached an agreement with right-hander Kenley Jansen on Tuesday. The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal added that the two sides agreed to a one-year, $10-million deal.

Jansen, 37, had 27 saves with a 3.29 ERA with the Boston Red Sox last season. The longtime Dodgers reliever has 447 saves in his career.

Training starting this week, the Boston Red Sox don't have many of their own free agents left on the market. However, on Tuesday, one of the few remaining unsigned found a new team, as MLB insider Jon Heyman reported that reliever Kenley Jansen has agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Angels.
