A pregnant teen is dead and her newborn child remains in critical condition after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Riverside, authorities said.

A teenager was arrested Thursday after Riverside detectives say he fatally hit a pregnant minor with his car Sunday night.

Police say that the incident happened at around 11:45 on Sunday evening, when they were dispatched to the 1500 block of Gregg Place near Chicago Avenue, according to the Riverside Police Department.
