Brenda Cropper, 66, died at a hospital after being in critical condition all week after the fire erupted on Sunday, officials said.

On Saturday, 66-year-old Brenda Cropper’s niece, Priscilla Andrade, visited the memorial for the first time since the fire. She was with her aunt hours before the flames erupted.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office said that a "miscommunication" led them to previously report that Brenda Cropper, 66, had died, when in fact she is still alive and in critical condition.

Brenda Cropper’s family describes her as a “tiny little thing” with a big smile who made friends easily. Cropper stood about about 4 feet, 11 inches tall, and her daughter Crystal Macura said her mother loved nothing more than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching old TV shows, and cans of soda.
