Welding, carpentry, cooking — some Thunder Bay, Ont., students are getting first-hand experience with the skilled trades this week.

A city-based school made culinary history by hosting the country’s first school-level masterchef-style cooking competition, capturing hearts and sparking excitement among budding chefs in the state.

A culinary arts student from southwest Oklahoma got the chance to participate in a unique, hands-on cooking experience.
