Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cam Heyward believes fans need to be patient after the George Pickens trade. Heyward, who has preached patience while the team waits for Aaron Rodgers, says the same thing as the team searches for another wide receiver following the Pickens deal.

The Steelers’ official position on receiver George Pickens is that both sides needed a “fresh start.” That’s a nice way of saying, “Get lost.” Ponder the situation for a second. What team concludes after three seasons that it, and the player, would benefit from a “fresh start”? A team for which the relationship has quickly gotten stale.

Pickens has the talent to make a big difference in the Dallas offense. But when he lacks effort, it can have the opposite effect.
