It is obvious to anyone who has seen Sensabaugh play that he is an incredible shooter, and that’s a super power that can give him NBA longevity. But, the turnovers, the weak ball handling, the subpar defense — those are things that could negate his shooting prowess and keep him off the floor.
Through the past two games of the Utah Jazz 's summer league action, it's been two outings without fifth-overall pick Ace Bailey being in the fold, as he's dealt with a hip injury to sideline him vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder, along with their first time out in Las Vegas vs. the Charlotte Hornets.
Brice Sensabaugh had never heard anything like it. He stood at the free throw line as the Utah Jazz fans at the Huntsman Center filled the arena with ‘MVP’ chants — and they were meant for him. He’d heard a crowd jeer and chant ‘overrated’ back when he was in high school, so this was a definite upgrade. But it made him nervous.
The Jazz even had to mount a comeback, as they trailed Memphis by as many as 17 points. The 112 points Utah scored are the most it has ever recorded in a Summer League Game! Still, all of these storylines pale in comparison to what Brice Sensabaugh did.
