Arch Manning is set to take over as the Texas Longhorns ’ starting quarterback next season, stepping in after Quinn Ewers declared for the NFL Draft a little more than over a week ago. Manning has spent the past two seasons developing, redshirting his first year, and serving as Ewers’ backup this past season.

Texas starting quarterback Quinn Ewers declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft has cleared the path for Manning to be the Longhorns’ starting quarterback next season. It’s possible next season will be Manning’s lone campaign as a starter before leaving for the NFL.

Manning's first game as the unquestioned face of Texas football will be against the same team Ewers faced in his last: Ohio State in Week 1.

But a preseason injury to CJ Baxter gave Wisner a chance to contribute, and he seized it, ultimately usurping Jaydon Blue to become Texas' feature back. He averaged 4.7 yards per rush on his way to a 1,064-yard season and caught 44 passes for 311 yards, too.
