For all of Piastri’s potential, Norris is the driver delivering for McLaren. The Brit scored four Grand Prix victories to his team-mate’s two in 2024 and outqualified him 20-4 throughout the campaign. This resulted in an 82-point advantage in the Drivers’ Championship standings.

Pre-season testing in Bahrain did nothing to dispel the idea that McLaren will be the class of the field this year, looking especially strong on their long runs.
