There’s a strong belief within the Broncos organization that the franchise’s revolving door of quarterbacks — 14 starters since Peyton Manning retired — has ended with Bo Nix in command. The rookie quarterback led the Broncos to a 10-7 regular-season record and their first postseason appearance since 2015.

The Denver Broncos went on the road to Seattle and lost a 1983 wild-card playoff game 31-7. There was a rookie quarterback named John Elway who played that day.

Nix hung tough, though, and the Broncos emerged victorious in Vegas and the next week in a barn-burning affair vs. the Cleveland Browns in Denver. Then that blessed Week 14 bye came and he was able to rest the injury away.
