The San Francisco Giants' third baseman was given three gifts by the home plate umpire in the same at bat. Chapman fell behind 0-2, and then he looked at three pitches that were all in the strike zone. Any one of them could've struck him out on pinpoint deliveries from Phillies reliever Orion Kerkering.

The San Francisco Giants activated third baseman Matt Chapman from the 10-day injured list prior to Saturday night's contest against the host Athletics. Chapman is batting fourth while playing in his customary defensive spot at the hot corner.

As he walked off the field, Chapman told reporters that he plans to play a rehab game with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday as the Giants begin their three-game series against the Athletics at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. The River Cats are currently playing in Reno, which is roughly a two-hour drive from West Sacramento.
