Police in Kenner, Louisiana, say additional evidence has been uncovered linking a Louisiana woman to a Kansas City sports anchor who died under suspicious circumstances while in New Orleans to cover the 2025 Super Bowl. Police are now saying publicly that Manzano may have been drugged before his death.

As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives have seized multiple electronic devices connected to the case and reviewed security video.

Adan Manzano was in New Orleans to cover Super Bowl LIX, but the sports reporter was found dead in his hotel room before kickoff. Police are trying to figure out what happened and what, if anything, “a career criminal” police say is known to run fraud schemes in the city’s French Quarter had to do with his death.

A woman who allegedly had Adan Manzano's cellphone and credit card in her home was arrested on property offenses, police said.
