After acquiring the prescription files from nearly 80 Rite Aid stores, Giant Eagle acknowledges it's at a pinch point right now.

Rite Aid is closing 40 more stores in Pennsylvania. The locations are among the 114 stores on the latest list. Rite Aid announced the latest closings in a bankruptcy filing on Thursday. The latest round of store closures for Rite Aid adds to the hundreds of locations previously announced as the pharmacy chain navigates its second bankruptcy filing.

Giant Eagle announced the last major batch of closing Rite Aid stores for which it has bought the customer lists and will be working to transfer the customer accounts to in the coming days.
