The Republic of Sudan now plans to ban imports from Kenya for hosting activities by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Nairobi. Speaking on February 24, Sudan’s Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Hussein al-Amin said government will take escalatory measures against Kenya for its relations with RSF.

Sudan has recalled its ambassador to Kenya Kamal Jubara after Nairobi hosted the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). It also vowed escalatory measures following the move by RSF to establish a parallel government while in Nairobi.

The Sudanese army says it has broken a near two-year siege imposed by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the key southern state capital of el-Obeid. The breakthrough came hours after the RSF signed a political charter in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, to establish a breakaway government in areas under its control.

Sudan's army said on Sunday it had seized back control of the town of el-Gitaina, just south of the capital, from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and broken the paramilitary group's siege on the strategic city of el-Obeid to the west.
