Thomas Chabot opened the scoring for the Senators early in the second period, assisted by Tkachuk. Dylan Cozens doubled the lead a little over eight minutes into the third period in a short-handed situation. Finally, Tim Stutzle and Tkachuk scored back-to-back empty-net goals inside the final three minutes of regulation to wrap up Ottawa's win.
