"Magic: The Gathering" is coming to life. A film and TV universe based on the popular card game is in the works from Legendary Entertainment and Hasbro Entertainment, with plans for a live-action feature film to kick off an interconnected universe that will expand into TV and other content.

The Gathering" will get big film and TV adaptations in a new partnership from Legendary Entertainment and Hasbro.

Legendary, the firm behind the Dune movies and Detective Pikachu, has partnered with Hasbro to make an MTG “film and television universe”.

Legendary Entertainment, best known today for the space epic Dune film franchise “pride (themselves) on being thoughtful caretakers of singular, beloved IP, and no property better fits that description than Magic The Gathering”, said Mary Parent, Legendary’s Chairman of Worldwide Production.

Legendary Entertainment has partnered with Hasbro Entertainment to develop a Magic: The Gathering movie and TV universe. This comes after more than three decades since Wizards of the Coast debuted the popular trading card game created by Richard Garfield.
